Legacy
BUY IT HERE

They Byrds created the jingle-jangle music of the 1960’s and are one of the most influential bands of their era. Now, one can purchase a box set containing all 11 of the original Columbia albums released between 1965 and 1971. Byrds fans will be thrilled to discover that each album contains rarities and unreleased tracks.

The album includes a booklet written by journalist Johnny Rogan, author of the definitive Byrd’s biography Timeless Flight. By purchasing this 11 album set, the price is only around seven bucks an album. This gets you everything from their huge days with David Crosby in the band as well as the later days when it was clear Roger McGuinn took over the band. At one time or another the Byrds had Gene Clark, David Crosby, Roger McGuinn, Gram Parsons and Clarence White as members of the band. This collection has them all.

The band first became famous for making Bob Dylan songs sound good. The albums included in this set are Mr. Tambourine Man, Turn! Turn! Turn!, Fifth Dimension, Younger Than Yesterday, The Notorious Byrd Brothers, Sweetheart of the Rodeo, Dr. Byrds and Mr. Hyde,” Ballad of Uneasy Rider and Byrdmaniax.

Songs on these albums include many of the best loved songs of the hippy era including “Mr. Tamborine Man,” “I’ll Feel A Whole Lot Better,” “The Bells of Rhymney,” “Turn! Turn! Turn!,” “All I Really Want to Do,” “Chimes of Freedom,” “Eight Miles High,” “Mr. Spaceman,” “5D,” “So You Want to Be a Rock ‘N’ Roll Star” and “My Back Pages.”
