Universal Music, in
association with Marley's original label, Tuff Gong has
remastered a masterpiece. Exodus
was the high water mark of Marley's career. The album contains
no less than five songs that are considered among his best work
including "Jammin'," "Waiting in Vain," "Three Little Birds,"
"One Love/People Get Ready" and the title track.
The album was recorded in
London after Marley was recuperating from an assignation
attempt. In 1977, the album reached #20 on the Billboard Album
Charts and in 1996 Time magazine named it the best album ever
recorded. While I don't agree with Time magazine, I will admit
that it is one of the best Marley ever released and it is among
the best of the genre.
