William Hart Strecker is a
musical journeyman who has made the rounds, given up music to
raise a family, nearly died in an automobile accident and came
back to music once again!
Smoke and Clouds
is an album of heartfelt, emotional and musical tunes that blend
country, rock and pop together resulting in a very classy CD.
Strecker has a voice that sounds like a mix of Bob Dylan on a
good day with the Eagles Don Henley and Joe Walsh. His music
has elements of all of the aforementioned artists as well.
The album is easy
listening in nature but musically solid, melding acoustic, pedal
steel and electric guitar with a sublime but talented rhythm
section. Strecker has surrounded himself with musicians who
have recorded or toured with pop and rock artists as diverse as
Madonna to Steely Dan.
Smoke and Clouds
is for any music lover looking to discover a
hidden talent, a true diamond in the rough, if you will. The
album may best be summed up as being real music made by a true
artist. This one is a winner.
