Rating: B
Neil Daniels has
released a new book on the musical life and times of Robert
Plant. The book, described as "Unofficial & Unauthorized,"
is a well researched and well-written description of the man
once described as The Golden God.
Daniels’ book does
suffer from not having any current interviews with Plant but
he does an acceptable job of combing through the archives
and finding relevant quotes from all involved in the Plant
saga.
Most interesting are
Daniels insights to the Honeydrippers and other side
projects that Plant has been a part of. The in-depth
descriptions into each solo album are fascinating as well.
This is not a ‘tell all’ type book as there is little behind
the scenes’ look at the debauchery of Led Zep, instead, this
book looks at Robert Plant’s musical personality in a unique
way that has never really been explored before.
