The Classic Album series is one of
the best things going in the realm of Classic Rock. This
series takes in-depth critical views of the best albums to
ever be made and mixes them with modern day interviews with
the band members and producers who made them and also
features the stars performing selected songs on their
instruments, teaching us how they came up with certain
licks.
This time around they take a look
at The Doors self-titled debut. Hearing how the songs were
recorded at the soundboard is mind blowing but even more
spellbinding is watching Ray Manzarek show how he came up
with classic keyboard riffs and Robby Krieger explaining his
music take on the songs while playing the lick right before
your eyes.
The mystery of the Jim Morrison
comes alive as the remaining band members talk about his
influence and their relationship with him. This is a DVD
that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout and
another example of the total dedication and class that are
the Classic Albums series.
