New York hard rock vets Brand New Sin have been
keeping real rock alive since around the beginning of
the 21st Century. Last year, they got one of
their bigger breaks opening for Slash on his USA tour.
Brand New Sin have been around the block a few times
and have had a few lineup changes over the years. One
thing they have, besides a lot of volume (this one goes
up to 11) is attitude. The album features original songs
that are metal sign worthy including the best two of the
bunch, “Bed of Nails” and “The Lord Came Down.”
The band totally rock out Black Sabbath’s “The
Wizard.” This is a mutha of a song that the band cranks
up and belts out. They also do a great cover of AC/DC’s
“What Do You Do for Money Honey.”
While the entire album is not kick ass, there are
moments on it where you will sit up and take notice.
With recent changes in the lead vocal and guitar
department, Brand New Sin is, once again, just getting
used to playing with each other in this configuration.
As this lineup gels then the band should continue to
grow. Even though they have been around over a decade,
in some form or another, things are truly just starting
to happen for these rockers.
One wonders what may come next. One thing for sure,
it will be loud!
