Iron Maiden – From Fear to Eternity: The best of 1990-2010

Rating: B+

When most people think ‘Iron Maiden’ they think of the classic five albums, Iron Maiden, Killers, Number of the Beast. Piece of Mind and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. Younger fans may think of later classics but few think of the last twenty years. This CD will change all of that. The release is a double-disc containing 23 songs that rock hard and show Iron Maiden has kept rocking long after many have written them off.

The album opens with “The Wicker Man,” which is, in truth, is one of the best songs the band ever released. The album also contains infectious metal rockers “El Dorado,” “The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg,” “Rainmaker,” “Be Quick or Be Dead,” “No More Lies,” “For the Greater Good of God,” “Dance of Death” and “When the Wild Wind Blows.”

While many other parts of the world have realized that Maiden have always remained viable songwriters, many in America have not kept up with the band. For those fans, this one should be checked out as this latest saga of Maiden contains many top-notch tunes that will keep your stereo cranked up loud enough to annoy the neighbors.
