Who needs a new Pink Floyd album when we have Liam
Davison around? Who, you may ask is Liam Davison and how
can I compare him to the might Floyd? Well, he is the
guitar player for the European rock group Mostly Autumn
and his new album, A Treasure of Well-Set Jewels
is more Floyd than the Division Bell was Floyd.
Not saying he is copying Pink but rather saying that he
has a similar songwriting style and he does it well.
“Ride the Seventh Wave” is all that needs to be heard
to get my drift but in case that is not enough to
convince the most skeptic listener then keep the disc
going because “The Way We Were” and “Emerald Eternity”
are more examples of this guys genius. Yep, Liam is
good. He may be better than his day gig. In fact, if he
keeps this streak up with future releases then he won’t
need Mostly Autumn anymore. They will be getting asked
questions of what it was like to work with him before he
broke big.
Not sure if the world of rock still cares enough to
support and listen to real music but if it does then
Liam Davison is going to wake a lot of people up with
his dreamy, visceral soundscapes. This one is winner.
