Rolling Stones – Some Girls
Universal Music
www.rollingstones.com

Rating: A+

Some Girls is one of the best albums the Rolling Stones have ever released.  The era of The Seventies, for the band, saw them pushing forward and becoming much more than a blues rock band.  Some Girls is a complete album, from start to finish, and contains many classics.

“Shattered” allowed Mick to strut his stuff while “Imagination” showed the softer side of his musical persona.  “Miss You” was a huge hit and the title song may be the raunchiest tune the band released since “Honky Tonk Woman.”  “Beast of Burden” was yet another future classic released on the album while “When the Whip Comes Down” and “Lies” have remained fan favorites.  And who can forget the Mick country twang on “Far Away Eyes”?   Some Girls is a killer album and one of the last times the Stones put their attitude out front and matched it with their musical cannon.  Great stuff indeed.
