Fergie Frederiksen – Happiness is the Road
Frontiers Records

Rating: B
Fans of melodic rock are familiar with the name Fergie
Frederiksen. While never reaching the heights of stardom of many
of his contemporaries, such as Bobby Kimball and Jimi Jamison,
Frederiksen has similar chops. He has a large fan base and has
released solid music over the years.
While the singer is very talented, he has had the misfortune of
suffering from poor health. In 2005, he had a successful liver
transplant due to Hepatitis C. In 2010, he was diagnosed with
inoperable liver cancer. One year later, Frederiksen announced
that he was cancer free. He, also, announced he was releasing a
new album. The music reflects his newfound joy of life. The best
songs are the passionate “Elaine” and the albums opening track
“Angel.” However, there is not a bad tune on the entire disc.
There are both ballads and rockers and the sound of the album is
impeccable.
Check this one out for the inspiration alone and enjoy it for
the classy, yet sassy, music contained within.
