ELO, as they were widely known, were the brainchild
of Jeff Lynne. The band hit the scene in the early
1970’s, developed some hardcore fans and then, later in
the decade took their unique brand or rock meets
orchestra to the world.
The band ended up hitting the Top 20 nineteen times
in the USA with classic tunes released off a series of
platinum selling albums.
This collection captures the band from their cult
like debut, No Answer to million selling albums
including Face the Music, A New World Record, Out of
the Blue and Discovery.
Just in case you lived in a hole in the ‘70’s then
let me remind you what songs can be found on this low
priced collection of the band’s eleven albums. For
starters there is "Can't Get It Out of My Head," "Evil
Woman," "Telephone Line," "Livin' Thing," "Sweet Talkin'
Woman," "Mr. Blue Sky," "Don't Bring Me Down" and "Hold
on Tight." But that just scratches the surface. Other
classic tracks include “Last Train to London,” “Tight
Rope,” Turn to Stone,” “Showdown,” “Roll Over
Beethoven,” “Strange Magic,” “Shine a Little Love,”
“Twilight” and “The Diary of Horace Wimp.”
There was never another band like ELO. They were
original, wrote great songs with fantastic pop hooks and
were loved by those who were just watching the charts or
music aficionados. It was a rare band that could have
pop success yet be respected by serious musicians. ELO
were one such band. This is a treasure trove of tunes
for ELO fans.
