Legacy/Experience Hendrix

Rating: A
Who wudda thunk that in 2010 a new studio album from Jimi Hendrix would be released? We are talking 40 years after his death; that is amazing in itself but even more mind-blowing is that his original career lasted only a handful of years.
A few songs have seen the light of day, in one form or another, over the years but many are making their debut on this disc. There are plenty of alternate takes, Hendrix jams and bluesy classics to get one excited. “Stone Free” and “Fire” are both interesting takes from the maestro of guitar. “Bleeding Heart” is a strong track as is “Lullaby for the Summer.” Classic tracks include guitar soaked classics “Sunshine of Your Love” and “Red House.”
If there are more songs in the vaults at Experience Hendrix then this writer is excited to hear them! Legacy, in association with Experience Hendrix, has also started a remastered series of Jimi’s classic albums complete with bonus DVDs.
