Eddie Trunk has long been the poster boy for hard rock and heavy metal. His career as a deejay in the biggest hard rock and metal market in America, New York City, has been supplemented over the years with his Satellite radio show and his various appearances on VH1 and VH1 Classic, which currently includes being the host of the critically acclaimed That Metal Show.

It is only fitting, at this stage of the game, to have the Guru of Metal release a book where he lists his favorite bands, his ultimate track listings and his backstage tales of hanging with rock and metal’s most iconic figures.

The forward to the book was written by The Metal God, Rob Halford with other kind words given by Ronnie James Dio, Chris Jericho, Bret Michaels, baseball legend Mike Piazza and guitar god Slash.

One may agree or disagree with the bands that Trunk lists but one can’t argue with his knowledge of the subject. No one knows more about 1980’s metal than Eddie and each chapter contains a ‘did you know’ feature that serves to both teach the minions and educate the new fans that pick up this book.

Eddie makes this a fun read and his passion for the subject comes through on every page. Damn, this guy has my dream job. Watch out Ed, I am reading this book for the second time… I’m coming to getcha!
