Uriah Heep have been liberal with the live efforts
over the last decade or so. And why not, as the current
lineup is among the best UH lineups to ever take the
stage. The band has played in over 53 countries, over 42
years, yet they had never taken their show to Armenia
before the night of the recording this show.
The set list features many newer Heep tunes, which the
crowd accepts well. The band has to remove a classic
every time they make room for a new song. This set saw
them trot out “Wake the Sleeper,” “Tears of the World,”
“What Kind of God” and “Angels Walk with You.” Many
bands would be terrified to put so much new music in the
set list, but few bands have the songs, and confidence,
that Uriah Heep have.
Old school fans will still find plenty to love as “Stealin’,”
“Gypsy,” “Look at Yourself,” “July Morning,” “Easy Livin’,”
“Sunrise,” “Sympathy” and “Lady in Black” are all
performed. Uriah Heep are playing well and it is obvious
they still enjoy doing what they do.
Guitarist Mick Box must have more frequent flyer
miles than he could ever use, but as long as that flight
is taking him to a Uriah Heep gig, he has a smile on his
face. This love for his craft, as well as the rest of
the band, who feel the same way, rubs off on any crowd
gathered to see them, making a night with Uriah Heep one
they will remember for the rest of their life.
