Rating: A+

On November 11, 2013 Creedence Clearwater Revival will release a box set that includes seven studio albums as well as live albums and rarities.  This is the ultimate CCR experience on the market.

The band released seven studio albums between 1967 and 1972 and they are all here: Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bayou Country, Green River, Willy and the Poor Boys, Cosmo s Factory, Pendulum, and Mardi Gras.  There is a disc and a half of live concerts on top of that but the real treat for CCR fans are 25 songs, ranging from 1961 to 1967 from bands such as Tom Fogerty & the Blue Velvets and the Golliwogs.

This set was released in 2001 but this time around the set has amazing new packaging that tucks the entire collection together in a box that looks like a Kustom amplifiers.  There are many rare photographs as well and liner notes written by Ben Fong-Torres, Robert Christgau, Ed Ward, Joel Selvin, Craig Werner, Alec Palao and Dave Marsh that tell the musical tale of the band.

Come on now, how hard can this be to review?  It’s CCR in all of their glory.  This is everything you could want and more.  If you need to add this band to your collection then there is nothing better.
