Lita Ford – Lita and Dangerous Curves
BGO Records

Rating: B

BGO Records has doubled up a pair of Lita Ford releases, one of which was her most popular and the other a shudda-been classic.

Lita features her two best known songs, “Kiss Me Deadly” and “Close My Eyes Forever,” her duet with Metal’s Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne.  The entire album is classic late ‘80s Hair Metal delivered strong.  Lita had teenage boys in shock as they watched her wail away on guitar every bit as loud as their male guitar heroes, but looking oh-so much better.  Lita became a female rock icon with the release of this album.

Dangerous Curves, however, is the album that makes this release most interesting.  You get the classic album but you also get this one which was released in1991 when Grunge was taking over the airwaves.  The song “Shot of Poison” saw Ford nominated for a Grammy while “Little Too Early” written by Ritchie Blackmore, Joe Lynn Turner and Al Pitrelli would have been a smash hit if it had been released on the Lita album.

At the end of the day, this is a killer back-to-back rock release featuring two of Lita’s finest.  New liner notes and packaging seal the deal and bring these albums back to life.
