Ken Hensley & Live Fire – Trouble

Rating: B

Live Fire is Ken Hensley’s band and they have…ahem…lit a proverbial fire under Ken’s butt and got the man most famous as the dude who wrote most of Uriah Heep’s iconic songs rocking like it was 1973.

Ken and band are having fun making loud, classic sounding slabs of rock and roll.  “Ready to Die” is the centerpiece of the album, and the first track, so it won’t take a listener long to discover that Ken has re-discovered his rock and roll heart.  “Trouble” the title track is an angst fueled number that rocks hard as hell and proves that creative types like Hensley are always in some sort of trouble.

The album is a throwback to the days of making a solid rock album where the musicians care more about getting it right then how they look in a video and how many girls they can get backstage after the show.

Ken is a true professional and an excellent songsmith.  With Live Fire he has ignited his musical soul to the delight of his many fans around the globe.
