Reviews like this one are not too challenging.

In fact…when they sound this good…they are easy as pie.

This offering is a re-mastering of a classic concert in 1970 that was previously remastered in 1996. Of course it is amazing…this is THE band at THE Fillmore.

The 1996 version went out of print so this is here in case you missed it then. It also sounds and looks better than ever. The track list is amazing. The music is breathtaking and the “Mountain Jam” is over a half hour long.

Buy it NOW.

Sound engineer Owsley “Bear” Stanley is a legend. The Owsley Stanley Foundation teamed with The Allman Brothers Band to re-release the material, with all new mastering, as Bear’s Sonic Journals: Allman Brothers Band, Fillmore East February 1970.

The songs are the same…and in the same order but the good news for fans is that there are high-resolution downloads out soon that will showcase never been released tracks from all three of the classic Filmore concerts.  These download are available separately through the Owsley Stanley Foundation website.

The legendary 1970 Fillmore East shows include the original The Allman Brothers Band lineup with guitarists Duane Allman and Dickey Betts, keyboardist Gregg Allman, bassist Berry Oakley and drummers Jaimoe and Butch Trucks.

This is a case of where the new is better sounding than the original.

The music is actually and honestly history.
