The Wilson Sisters, Ann and Nancy, along with music biographer, Charles R. Cross, have hit a home run with the new book Kicking and Dreaming.

This is not a ‘tell all’ book, rather it is a memoir of what it was like to grow up in a military family, move around the world, fall in love with music and then do whatever it takes to make a dream became a reality.

Ann and Nancy open up about their insecurities growing up, their first loves (it might surprise you just how naïve these women were) and how they made music from their heart and soul.

As they come of age, the book gets a bit more sensational as the reader gets to peak behind the curtain and vicariously live through the sisters as they party with the Stones, Van Halen, Def Leppard and others.

Not just about stardom, however, the book focuses on their struggles throughout their lives including speech impediments, fertility issues, addictions and failed relationships.

More from longtime Heart member Howard Leese would have been nice, but Ann and Nancy did a great job of opening up and allowing their fans to see them for who they are, not just as artists, musicians or rock stars, but as people.

This is a book that you will have a hard time putting down.
