The Rolling Stones – Grrr!

Rating: A

Despite the fact that the Rolling Stones have released a ton of hits packages over the years, and despite the fact that this one will come in five different formats, and that it is a total money grab for the Holiday season…this fricking album ROCKS.

Lets get the marketing of the review out of the way…you can get a three-CD version with 50 tunes on it or you can get a four-CD version with 80 songs. There are also deluxe, super deluxe and other versions with downloads…basically you can get as much Stones as your ears can handle.

The 3-CD version, however, tells a great tale of what rock and roll history calls the Rolling Stones and should more than suffice for the average fan.

From their Chuck Berry’s “Come On”, their first single issued in June 1963 to the classic tunes “The Last Time”, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”, “Get Off Of My Cloud”, “Jumping Jack Flash”, “Honky Tonk Women,” “Brown Sugar”, “Tumbling Dice”, “Miss You” and “Start Me Up” this is a fun release that will keep you rocking for hours. There are also two new songs, “Doom and Gloom” and “One More Shot” thrown in for good measure.

So, despite the fact you’ve undoubtedly spend lots of money on the albums these songs come from in the past, one again you will reach into your pocketbook and pull out some green to get ‘em all in one place. And, what the hell, it’s the freaking Stones…worth every penny.
